«House of Happiness» Association
Our «House of Happiness» is a non-profit organization that aims to provide a home for children in need and orphans in Arusha (Tanzania). We want to improve the living conditions and educational opportunities of disadvantaged children and give them a perspective.
Visions
- Offer orphans and half-orphans a safe and beautiful home and thus create liveable living conditions.
- Help children on their way into adult life and give them a perspective for their future.
- Enable disadvantaged children to go to school and ensure their health.
We are officially recognized as a non-profit association by the Basel-Landschaft tax administration and can issue donation receipts throughout Switzerland. The association has existed since September 6, 2020.
Founding Motivation
For decades, in her professional role as travel advisor and companion, the founder and president of the association, Nicole Di Venere, has been traveling regularly to Africa, mostly to Tanzania. Whilst visiting, she always personally financially aided people, especially orphans in need, until she came across an orphanage in Arusha (Tanzania) in 2019.
All that time, the orphanage had hardly any financial means, which put the children in an unacceptable situation. Without further ado, she decided to provide the livelihood of the 26 children, the wages of the carers and the rent of the property herself until further notice.
Thanks to their commitment, local residents became aware of the orphanage and joined the support. Today the orphanage is self-financed by generous donations form countless locals and thus stands on its own feet.
Due to the urgent need for orphanages in Arusha (Tanzania) and her big heart for children she decided to build her own orphanage. As a result, in September 2020 the “House of Happiness” association was founded.
